Continental ContiEcoContact 6 Q
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Continental ContiEcoContact 6 Q
The Continental ContiEcoContact 6 Q summer tire is offered in a maximally wide range of sizes, making it a suitable option for virtually any modern passenger car, including their most dynamic versions. Some versions of this model have a speed index of Y. In essence, the German manufacturer offers a tire whose characteristics correspond to the Ultra High Performance category, but at the same time differs in exceptional fuel efficiency and mileage for such tires.
Efficient Tread Pattern
The "dual nature" of this model is largely ensured by the design of the asymmetric tread pattern. It features massive, deformation-resistant elements. On the one hand, this reduces rolling resistance and uneven wear, and on the other hand, it provides stability of traction properties at any speed and driving comfort with sports notes inherent in UHP tires. The driving characteristics are almost fully preserved on wet roads as well. The increased volume of longitudinal grooves in the central part and the special shape of the transverse drainage grooves at the edges of the tread minimize the likelihood of aquaplaning.
Optimized Compound
The tire's tread is made from the Green Chili 2nd generation rubber compound. To a large extent, its composition repeats the Black Chili compound for the brand's "sporty" line of tires. We are talking about polymers that increase the strength of molecular bonds between all components of the rubber compound. This made it possible to increase the silica content, known as "silica", which increases the tire's grip on cold wet surfaces. This solution also reduces heat generation during prolonged high-speed driving, reducing fuel consumption, prevents abrasive wear of the tread, and increases the service life of the tire.
Key Features of Continental ContiEcoContact 6 Q
- The tread pattern with massive ribs and blocks at the edges provides stability of traction properties at any speed, sports agility in handling, reduces fuel consumption, and increases the tire's service life;
- The Green Chili second-generation rubber compound reduces rolling resistance, prevents tread wear, and improves grip on wet surfaces;
- The wide longitudinal grooves and special shape of the drainage elements in the shoulder zones minimize the risk of water film formation between the tire and the road surface.

I've been riding on these tires for the third season. Economical - fuel consumption has decreased by 0,6-0,8 l/100 km. Aquaplaning - the tread is not very deep, but it holds the road well in heavy rain. Softness of the rubber compound - soft, sticks to the road. Softness of the sidewall - soft (4 out of 5), to feel comfortable you need to pump up by 0,2 atm, the softness does not affect the comfort.
