All-season tire Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is designed based on the previous model, but at the same time it has a number of significant improved characteristics. First of all, this is the grip on dry and wet coverage, as well as the service life, which has been significantly increased.
Optimized tread pattern
As in the case of the previous model, the preferences of the developers of this tire were given in favor of a V-shaped tread pattern. This scheme of element arrangement gives a clear advantage on wet coverage, as it provides the formation of numerous drainage channels directed against the movement from the center to the edges of the tread. This significantly increases the intensity of water removal from under the tire, reducing the risk of aquaplaning to a minimum even at very high speeds. In addition, the pattern contains C-shaped blocks in the central part. This shape helps them to rest on each other, which increases the accuracy of steering, maintained throughout the life of the tire.
Improved rubber compound
This model was one of the first to use a new version of the Chili compound. In essence, this is a combination of technical solutions used in different iterations of this rubber compound. It is distinguished by the presence of new plasticizers in the composition, which preserve the elasticity of the tread at low temperatures, increasing the reliability of traction properties and steering accuracy on cold winter roads. The polymer package, activating certain molecular bonds, provides more intense braking on dry and wet surfaces, maintaining the integrity of the tread during prolonged thermal exposure. The compound uses special elastomers that adapt the rubber mixture to the road surface, increasing resistance to abrasive wear, which significantly increases the life of the tire.
Main features of Continental AllSeasonContact 2
- V-shaped arrangement, multiplicity, large number of intersections of drainage channels provide excellent resistance to hydroplaning at almost any speed;
- C-shaped blocks in the central part increase directional stability and steering accuracy, reduce rolling resistance and wear;
- optimized rubber compound enhances traction properties on wet and snowy surfaces, prevents rapid tire wear, reduces rolling resistance and noise;
- lightweight yet rigid carcass structure improves handling, reduces fuel consumption, prevents uneven wear.
