The Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 winter tire is designed with consideration for the specific conditions of so-called "European winters". This model is most effective on wet and snowy surfaces, demonstrating stable traction, quickness, and precision in handling. In addition, the use of modern technologies and materials has made it possible to significantly improve fuel efficiency and acoustic comfort. And, like other tires from the Japanese brand, the advantages of this model include the "signature" resistance to strong impacts and wear resistance.
Optimized Compound
The tread is made from a rubber mixture, the composition of which was selected based on the winter climatic conditions of European countries. More than half of it consists of silica dioxide. The use of this component in the form of fine particles, combined with the use of special polymers, provides the uniformity of the rubber mixture, as well as its elasticity at negative temperatures, tear resistance and stretch resistance, and heat resistance. As a result, the tread maintains a high level of traction on road surfaces with various characteristics and in any weather conditions, demonstrating excellent wear resistance and reliability.
Effective Tread Pattern
The tread is designed in a typical design for tires in this category with a symmetrical and directional arrangement of elements. However, a number of important features significantly increase its effectiveness in difficult winter conditions. One of them is the reduction of the size of the blocks in the central part, which made it possible to increase their total number and, together with this, the number of edges formed by them. Their great height, as well as the increased width of the drainage grooves, allows the tire to demonstrate confident behavior on snow. The arrangement of a significant part of the edges across the tire ensures effective realization of the traction force and shortens the braking distance in such conditions. The shoulder blocks are distinguished by their increased size and transverse arrangement. This gives the tire stability when maneuvering and simplifies the process of controlling the car at high speed due to faster and more accurate reactions of the tire to the driver's actions.
Increased Lamella Density
The tread pattern is distinguished by a very dense arrangement of lamellas. Narrow slits are separated from each other by a few millimeters. The sinusoidal shape of these elements significantly increases the length of the edges formed by them, increasing the effectiveness of their work on surfaces with a low coefficient of friction. It is worth noting the arrangement of the lamellas almost perpendicular to the direction of movement. This solution significantly reduces the risk of tire slipping when accelerating and shortens the braking distance on slippery, wet, and snowy surfaces.
Key Features of Bridgestone Blizzak LM001
- A rubber mixture with a high silica content and special polymers provides the tire with efficiency in the most difficult conditions;
- The tread pattern with a V-shaped design provides stable traction on wet and snowy surfaces;
- High lamella density provides efficiency during acceleration and braking on slippery surfaces.
