The 3D Mod technology was used in the creation of the tread, which involves the widespread use of computerized means of three-dimensional modeling. As a result, thanks to the optimization of the tread design and the materials used, it was possible to achieve an ideal balance of the tire's main operational and consumer qualities.
In motion, the Winter Drive tire is distinguished by high acceleration and braking efficiency. Such high indicators were achieved thanks to the optimal size, shape, and arrangement of the tread blocks located in the central part of the pattern. In addition, the ZZ Lamels technology was used in the creation of the tire, which involves the use of numerous zigzag-shaped lamellas that cover the entire tread. Moreover, these lamellas are arranged in different directions, ensuring excellent traction on slippery surfaces in all directions and under any conditions. As a result, when in contact with the road surface, the numerous tread blocks and zigzag-shaped lamellas create countless sharp edges of engagement, guaranteeing excellent traction and coupling characteristics even in the most unfavorable conditions from the point of view of road traction.

This was achieved thanks to the half-arches that connect the tread blocks located in the central part and the shoulder zones into a single element with high rigidity. It is also worth noting the high efficiency of the Cordiant Winter Drive tire's drainage system, which easily handles not only the removal of snow from the contact patch but also water during thaw periods, which are characteristic of modern winters in the city. This was made possible thanks to the presence of a large number of tread blocks located at an optimal distance from each other, which, in turn, formed the tire's drainage system consisting of numerous longitudinal and transverse channels and grooves.

In developing the composition of the Cordiant Winter Drive tire's rubber mixture, the SMART-MIX technology was used. This technological development involves the inclusion of components based on technocarbon and silica in the rubber mixture. As a result, it was possible to significantly improve the traction characteristics on slippery surfaces and considerably increase the tire's elasticity at negative temperatures and resistance to wear.
Another design solution applied in the creation of this tire is the Dual Nylon&Steel technology - a combined breaker construction. This structural element of the tire consists of a two-layer steel cord and a protective layer of nylon wound using a seamless technology. The result of this technical solution was an increased tire strength against various aggressive influences, resistance to deformations, and elasticity.
As an additional measure aimed at improving the tire's main operational characteristics, the Double Tread technology was used, which involves the application of a two-layer tread. The upper layer of the tread, which is the wear layer, consists of a rubber mixture mentioned above. The lower layer, on the other hand, is made of a special rubber that has minimal hysteresis losses, which made it possible to significantly reduce rolling resistance.
