The Altai Tire Plant's new universal light truck tire, Barnaul Forward Professional 170, is designed for installation on small-tonnage trucks from the Gorky Automobile Plant, belonging to the "Gazelle" and "Sobol" families, as well as some models from foreign manufacturers.
The tread pattern of the tire consists of three central ribs and two side ribs located in the shoulder areas of the tread. All the ribs of the tread are divided into separate blocks by four longitudinal grooves and a multitude of lateral channels of a zigzag shape. This scheme allows, without compromising the efficiency of water and snow drainage from the tire's contact patch, to maximize its area, which significantly improves the traction characteristics on various types of surfaces, including snowy ones.
Each block of the Forward Professional 170 tire is equipped with several lamellas, which, without compromising the stiffness of the blocks, also contribute to the improvement of traction characteristics when driving on wet or snowy roads. The sufficiently large distance between the tread blocks provides excellent self-cleaning capabilities, including from dirt and various soil fragments.
The composition of the rubber mixture of the Professional 170 tire is selected taking into account the large mileage inherent in the operation of commercial freight transport, and provides the tire with increased wear resistance and a long service life.
The main features of the Forward Professional 170 tire
- Good traction on the road in any conditions, as well as a shortened braking distance, including in winter, is provided by a carefully designed tread pattern;
- High fuel efficiency, comfort, and low noise level due to the five-rib tread pattern;
- Excellent directional stability and handling, ensured by a thoughtful design of the tire's tread pattern;
- Excellent self-cleaning indicators of the tread, thanks to the large distance between its blocks.
