The motorcycle tyre Mitas Terra Force-R, although designed for heavy touring enduro and Adventure category bikes, significantly differs from most tyres of similar purpose in terms of its driving qualities. The model stands out with its "road" orientation, being addressed to owners of "off-road tourists" who spend 90% of their time on asphalt.

Engineering technologies for travel

The atypical specialisation of the tyre has resulted in the presence of technologies from road tyres. First and foremost, this is MCTT – the division of the tread into sections, each of which is made from a compound with certain properties. The central part uses a more rigid rubber compound, increasing stability and precision handling during straight-line movement. The edges of the tread are made from an elastic compound, providing more reliable grip in turns. Both compounds have a significant content of "silica", which improves the tyre's performance on wet surfaces.

Confidence on asphalt and gravel

The tread pattern has a "road" design, but with differences in the form of increased grooves with variable cross-section, which additionally increase the intensity of water diversion from the contact patch. On dirt, such elements allow the tyre not to "clog", providing high traction properties in such conditions.

Stiff carcass for heavy motorcycles

The design is based on SCT technology, which maintains high carcass stiffness even as the tread wears out. During the development of the model, computer simulation was also used, which allowed optimising the shape of the carcass and the distribution of loads. This complex is complemented by the OGT 3D technology, which provides optimal placement and depth of grooves to reduce overheating of the tread. Such a combination makes the model particularly suitable for long trips with a passenger and luggage.
