The "Cordoba" model from the Spanish company Seat was introduced in 1993. The car was built on a universal platform from Seat Ibiza called Mk2. In 2002, a new generation was introduced, which was based on a new Mk3 platform (the same as the updated "Ibiza"). The car was now offered only in a sedan body. It increased in size, which positively affected not only the salon but also the trunk. The latter could reach a volume of 800 liters with the rear seats folded. Notably, the engines and chassis of the new model were fully identical to the Volkswagen Polo 4 and Skoda Fabia 2 and 3 generations. The car's exterior became more laconic, with smooth lines prevailing. The ergonomics of the salon also improved significantly. However, all this did not contribute to an increase in sales. As a result, the model ceased to be produced at the end of 2008 (in some countries, the car came off the assembly line until 2014). Despite its relatively low popularity, more than 1 million copies were produced, some of which entered the Russian market.
