The Plymouth Voyager was produced from 1974 to 2000. Initially, the vehicle was a van, and then it became one of the first minivans in North America.

In 1974, a full-size van appeared in the production range of the North American brand, which was a copy of the Dodge Sportsman. However, unlike the latter, the model was available only in a passenger version, in several variants, designed to carry up to 15 people, depending on the length of the frame. The exception was the longest version, which was the Dodge MaxiWagon. Two years later, two more modifications were added to the line - Custom and Sport, completely copied from the Dodge line. Until its discontinuation in 1983, the North American brand offered vans in updated versions, which appeared in the wake of similar models from Dodge.

S Model

In 1984, the brand returned the Voyager to the production lineup, but this time the vehicle was a minivan, a copy of the Dodge Caravan. The model was distinguished by the presence of a sliding door on the right side, and its front-wheel drive layout allowed for a reduction in floor height to "passenger car" values, which, along with the ample space inside, predetermined the popularity of the vehicle on the North American market in the mid-1980s.

AS Model

In 1991, the next-generation model was introduced. In essence, it was a modernized predecessor, using the K platform. The same trim level names were present, which, however, were significantly expanded. The key difference was the design of the front end, where the radiator grille, authentic to the brand, played a dominant role. Inside, the vehicle was distinguished by the presence of a 2-spoke steering wheel.

NS Model

In contrast to its predecessor, the third-generation minivan, which debuted in 1996, turned out to be a truly new vehicle. It used a different platform, which allowed for a significant increase in dimensions. Variants with a standard wheelbase turned out to be just a few inches shorter than the extended Grand versions of the previous generation. Another difference from the predecessor was the positioning. The vehicle was offered as an entry-level model, distinguished by bumpers with a matte gray finish, regardless of the trim level. Nevertheless, it retained several unique features. First and foremost, this is the transformation system of the two rear rows of seats, which can be removed or moved using roller guides without the need for special tools. 16-inch wheels and tires were standard for this minivan.
