Second Generation

In contrast to its predecessor, the second-generation vehicle has practically lost its technical connection with American off-road vehicles of the mid-20th century. However, this did not affect the body design, which preserved the styling of the legendary predecessors. The off-road vehicle has significantly increased in size compared to the previous model, while retaining removable doors, as well as a soft top and a hard roof to choose from. The vehicle uses the same frame platform as the Scorpio model, from which the suspension with springs, double levers at the front, and a non-split rear axle was also borrowed. The all-wheel-drive system still represented a classic "part-time" with a reduction gear and a lockable rear differential. To the "off-road" components, electronics were added - ESP, uphill and downhill assistants.

An important innovation was the appearance in the engine range of engines with an aluminum cylinder block. The base version offers an in-line diesel "four" with turbocharging, a volume of 2.2 liters, developing 132 horsepower and 300 Nm. An alternative to it is a 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 2 liters, with a power of 152 horsepower and 320 Nm.

Two trim levels were available for the vehicle. The basic one, traditionally for the model, was distinguished by asceticism, offering a 6-seat salon with benches along the sides in the rear, air conditioning, a soft top, and a manual transmission. A more expensive version made available a 4-seat salon, a multimedia system with a 7-inch screen, climate control, a hard roof, and a 6-speed automatic transmission Aisin.
