Tires on Mahindra Scorpio Pikup (Махиндра)

The Mahindra Scorpio Pikup debuted in the Indian company's production lineup in 2006. The vehicle was one of the variants of the Scorpio SUV, being a classic pickup truck with a frame layout.

    First Generation

The vehicle was created as a supplement to the compact Scorpio SUV, which became popular not only in India but also in other countries in the first half of the 2000s. It differed from the standard model primarily in the type of body, being available with both a single 2-door and a two-row 4-door cabin. Like the original SUV, the pickup truck in its base version offered rear-wheel drive only. More expensive versions were equipped with a classic "part-time" four-wheel drive with mechanical connection of the front wheels, supplemented by a transfer case with a reduced gear range and an Eaton rear axle lock with the possibility of connecting on the go. Due to the cargo platform, the departure angle was reduced to 15 degrees, but the ramp angle was an impressive 18 degrees. The pickup's equipment varied significantly depending on the application. Versions oriented exclusively for commercial use were excessively ascetic. This cannot be said about the top-of-the-line versions, which offered a multimedia system with voice control and satellite navigation, as well as a central lock with a function to prevent accidental opening.

    Second Generation

In 2023, the next-generation pickup truck debuted. Although it was created on a modernized platform from the previous model, it differs significantly from it in terms of usage concept, being oriented primarily towards the civilian sector. The vehicle received a completely redesigned body design with various "off-road" accessories - a snorkel, an expeditionary trunk, footboards, an integrated winch in the front bumper, and an LED spotlight. The pickup retained a non-split rear axle and a "part-time" four-wheel drive with mechanical front axle engagement. Under the hood was a 2.2-liter turbocharged diesel "four" which, depending on the version, developed 132 or 175 horsepower, combined with a manual transmission or a 6-speed "automatic" from Aisin. 16-inch wheels were standard for this vehicle and can be purchased at the "Mosavtoshina" online store.
