The JAC S7 has been part of the Chinese brand's production lineup since 2017, being a mid-size crossover. Initially, it was an authentic model that was produced until 2020. Later, this index was used in relation to the export version of the X7 crossover, which was also supplied to our country.

Initial Version

The vehicle, which debuted in 2017, although it belonged to compact crossovers, already offered a 3-row cabin layout and a sufficiently spacious trunk with a folded "gallery" - 477 liters in its standard equipment. Under the hood of the base version, there was a turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline "four" developing 174 hp and 251 Nm. As an alternative, a 2-liter engine with 190 hp and 300 Nm was offered. Both power units were combined with both manual and robotic gearboxes. In all trim levels, the drive could only be on the front axle.

For its class, the crossover was quite well-equipped, especially in the top version. It offered a 12.3-inch instrument panel display, a projection screen under the windshield, a panoramic roof, natural leather seat trim, front seats with ventilation and electric adjustments, an Infinity audio system, and cameras with a 360-degree view.

Second Version

In 2020, the Chinese manufacturer presented a crossover with the same index, but now representing the export version of the X7 model. In terms of dimensions, it was close to such bestsellers of our market as the Hyundai Santa Fe and Chery Tiggo 8, significantly inferior to both in terms of ground clearance, which was a modest 160 mm. As with its predecessor, under the hood, there was a 1.5-liter "four" with a turbocharger, producing 150 hp and 251 Nm, working in pair with a 6-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. The drive was again only on the front axle, despite the presence of a multi-link suspension at the rear. An undoubted advantage over the predecessor was the significantly larger trunk volume - 960 liters with a folded "gallery", which was available for an additional fee.

In terms of equipment, the car again stood out with a fairly extensive set of equipment. In particular, the base version offered a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch display and a rear-view camera, air conditioning, and two rear parking sensors. At the "mid-level" trim, this set was supplemented with climate control, side airbags, LED optics, and two more rear parking sensors. The top version offered "curtains of safety", imitation leather seat trim, ventilation, electric adjustments, and massage for the front seats, as well as front parking sensors, cameras with a 360-degree view, engine compartment sound insulation, a power tailgate, a roof hatch, and a virtual "instrument panel" with a 12.3-inch diagonal.
