The history of China's first automobile plant, namely the abbreviation FAW, began in 1949. After visiting the USSR, the then-ruler of the PRC, Mao Zedong, was particularly impressed by the Soviet automobile industry. As a result, he provoked the construction of a plant, the activities of which were aimed at creating cars based on Soviet machines. So, the first model produced at the new production facilities was the Jiefang, which was based on the ZIS-150, and later another Jiefang CA-30 appeared - the ZIS-157. In parallel with trucks, passenger cars were also coming off the assembly line. The Hongqi CA72 is a representative sedan, the base of which was the GAZ-13 "Chaika". It was released in a limited edition of 202 copies. For 30 years, from 1960 to 1990, the plant produced the Hongqi CA770 sedan, which closely resembled the classic GAZ-21 "Volga".

And in 1989, a new product appeared, the basis of which was the Audi 100, and not the Russian automotive industry. Since then, the company's active cooperation has only expanded and deepened. As a result, among the partners, one can distinguish Ford, Mazda, Volkswagen, Toyota, and a number of others. Therefore, by the end of the millennium, the company could already boast a network of enterprises consisting of 22 plants.

Present day

The more than 70-year history of the company has been reflected in its current state. Every year, it sells over 3 million vehicles belonging to various spheres, from compact sedans to large trucks, as well as special equipment. The developed network of representations (over 40 countries) and distribution activities in 80 states are direct evidence of the solidity of production and the quality of the products.

Now the company is actively advancing in the development of electric vehicle production, being one of the leaders in the PRC.

Development in the Russian sector

As early as 2004, the company began to actively supply cargo equipment to the country, which received fairly widespread distribution. And literally two years later, production facilities opened in the territory of the Russian Federation, where trucks were initially assembled, and then SUVs. LLC "FAW-Eastern Europe" is a subsidiary that has been operating in the country since 2007, initially specializing in special equipment, and since 2012, in a wide range of passenger cars.

Today, the manufacturer has formed an extensive dealership network throughout Russia, through which the sale of products takes place.
