The tires are excellent, they perform very well in snow and on ice

I bought excellent tires, most importantly, fresh ones))) All Good, winter should be winter, the only minus is a little noise.

Good tires for their money

The tire was purchased for driving on predominantly snowy and icy roads of the Tver region on a front-wheel drive car. The tire has driven three seasons and about 40,000 km. In the first two years, the passability was above all praise: both on snow and on ice, it showed itself perfectly, easily pulling the car with a trailer. In the third year, apparently, the studs became dull, began to grind the ice. The rubber is noisy, but all studded tires are noisy. Overall, very satisfied.

I purchased tires for a 2021 Solaris with an automatic transmission, choosing a budget-friendly option for taxi operation. Over the winter, I drove approximately 37,000 km. The tires are excellent on ice, snow, and frozen roads, providing great traction. However, there is one drawback - they perform poorly in snowy slush. The handling and braking are very poor, and if the ABS system kicks in, the car becomes nearly uncontrollable; I almost got into an accident a couple of times. Initially, the tires were noisy, sounding like an airplane, but after driving 2,000 km, they became quiet. In February, I drove from Moscow to St. Petersburg in a snowstorm, and the tires held up well at speeds of 140-150 km/h. On the highway, they handled 160 km/h with confidence and stability. They also performed well in puddles at 110 km/h and on wet asphalt. However, with the arrival of warmer temperatures (+7-+10°C), they start to drift at 80 km/h and don't handle positive temperatures well. A significant advantage of these tires is their durability - after 37,000 km, I haven't lost a single stud, and the wear is only 10%, which is an excellent result. I recommend these tires for purchase.

I purchased the Cordiant Snow Cross 2 tires before the 2020-2021 winter season, and so far, I've driven around 12,000 km on them, mostly on asphalt. Lately, we haven't had much snow, but due to temperature fluctuations, there's often black ice, and when it does snow, it comes down heavily and quickly. Overall, I've had the chance to test these tires in various conditions and can confidently recommend them for purchase.

On ice, the first two seasons were excellent, but by the third season, I started to notice that the studs had worn down slightly, which isn't surprising given that I spend most of my time driving on asphalt. Nevertheless, all the studs are still in place and feel quite aggressive to the touch. I've never gotten stuck in icy potholes, even when I intentionally stopped in one to test the tires. The tire description claims to have around 18 rows of studs, which is confirmed by the tracks they leave on ice across the entire width of the tire.

I have no complaints about the studding – it's reliable, well-designed, and the studs themselves are well-shaped and made of a good material. On snow, the tires perform exceptionally well. There have been times when I wouldn't have dared to drive on my old Hankook tires, but these ones handle the snow with ease. Sometimes it feels like the car is already stuck, but the tires have other plans – they just keep pushing forward, plowing through the snow with the bumper. When I get out of the car and look at the tracks behind me, I'm amazed at how I managed to drive through without getting stuck.

On wet, snowy roads, the tires behave normally. I did get a bit too confident once and tried to turn at a right angle without slowing down, and the car did slide, but I managed to recover. I haven't seen any tires that perform better in these conditions. The only thing to note is that these tires can make you a bit too confident, and you start to get used to their excellent handling on any surface, which can be a bad thing.

There is some noise from the studs, but I wouldn't say it's too loud. Overall, after a couple of seasons, I'll definitely be buying new tires again, and it will be the Cordiant Snow Cross 2. Before last winter, I was looking for these tires for my father's Zaphir, but I couldn't find them anywhere in the republic, even after contacting the factory. They told me that due to COVID, there were production issues, so I had to settle for the Roadstone Winguard instead. The tread pattern is similar to the Cordiant Snow Cross 1, and the tire might be quieter, but in terms of driving performance, I prefer the Snow Cross 2 – it's definitely more confident on ice.

On dry asphalt, the tires are of course not as good as non-studded tires, but I have had to emergency brake a few times, and the car behaved predictably, with the ABS not engaging. Overall, I recommend these tires to all my acquaintances, some of whom have seen them in action and were impressed by their performance on snow and ice. Going uphill on ice, the tires were perfect for the first two seasons, and I was able to start moving confidently. On the third season, there was one situation where I had to shovel for 15 seconds, but the car slowly started moving up the hill, sliding slightly from side to side, until the studs finally caught and the car started moving. It's worth noting that this is a problematic spot in our city, where the snow is not cleared very enthusiastically, and they don't bother to sprinkle any salt. On that particular day, many cars were struggling to get up the hill, but with the Cordiant Snow Cross 2, I was one of the few who made it up without any issues.

I'm not in a hurry to buy Cordiant tires for the summer, as I have some concerns about their durability, but for winter, I'm very satisfied, and I don't feel like experimenting with other brands. The price is good, and the quality is excellent, so I'd say go for it – you won't regret it.

The tires are a disappointment! I bought 4 of them, and one turned out to be defective with a bulge. I didn't notice it right away, but after 150-200 km of driving. The tire fitter said it was 100% a factory defect. I had to buy another one just like it. They won't refund my money, because once you put it on the rim, it's no longer under warranty. This is just brilliant...

In frosty weather at -20 and below, the tires freeze and skid almost on flat surfaces. I won't buy them again and I don't recommend them to you. I'm disappointed!

Don't save money on tires, guys, it's your safety.
