Tyre reviews Centara Winter RX858 20

I bought these tires in December 2022 and received them in January 2023. Honestly, I'm satisfied with the tires - they're not top-of-the-line, but for the price, they're excellent. They handle snow and packed snow well, and on dry asphalt, they're great. The tread is high, and the stiffness is just right. The studs are a bit small, but they still work. However, I wouldn't overestimate them - there was a situation where it was snowing, the road wasn't cleared, and at the bus stop, the buses had packed down the snow into ice... it was tough to stop there. Later, three buses and four cars crashed into each other at that spot. In any case, these tires are 1.5 heads above the YOKOHAMA GEOLANDER i/t-s G073. Overall, they're not a bad budget option, especially considering the shortage of studded tires in this size (285/75 R16). I don't have anything to say about noise levels, as I haven't driven faster than 80 km/h, and the age of my car is also a factor. I haven't had a chance to test them on wet asphalt yet, so I'll give them a 3.

I've driven through winter on these tires. They're soft. Some of the studs have come off. It was very difficult to balance them. They're not very good in loose snow. They're okay on a snowy road. The handling is predictable. I won't buy them again.

Basically, not bad tires, they don't get brittle at minus 25, they handle the road quite well, and they perform well on snow and open ice. It's too early to judge the durability of the studs themselves, plus the tire is quite noisy at high speeds. For the money, it's a fairly decent option.

Pleasantly surprised, I expected worse. I liked them. They don't make noise. They cope with the task set.
