The largest agricultural tires from Michelin

15 july 2012
In Stoke-on-Trent (Britain), the Cereals-2012 agricultural machinery exhibition was held. The Michelin company presented the Michelin AxioBib tires at the exhibition, which are the largest tires for agricultural machinery ever presented by the company. Their diameter is 2.15 meters.
This model was developed specifically for high-power tractors. Michelin AxioBib is a novelty and will go on sale from July of this year. It is designed specifically for such types of agricultural work as tillage, where large-sized equipment is used. Mike Lawton, Michelin's commercial director for agriculture in Britain, said that the implementation of such a plan for high-complexity work "largely depends on the ability of tires to provide the necessary traction".

The feature of this model is that a unique Ultraflex technology was used in its development, which allows the tire to withstand high loads at low pressure. This contributes to the fact that soil compaction is reduced, and, as a consequence, the potential fertility of the soil increases.

Michelin AxioBib allows heavy equipment to move at a speed of 65 km/h. At the same time, these tires provide a comfortable ride.

Recall that the Ultraflex technology is also used to manufacture such Michelin tires as Michelin XeoBib, CerexBib, and SprayBib.
