Yokohama Ice Guard IG91

The Yokohama Ice Guard IG91 tire from the Japanese manufacturer is a combination of improved performance on winter roads and the efficiency of each element of the tread.

The manufacturer has carefully worked out the tread pattern, which has a multi-block structure in the central part. Three longitudinal ribs, supplemented by a lamellar network, excellently handle snowy and icy sections. At the same time, improved braking is ensured (9% better than analogues).

Four central channels, a multitude of transverse grooves, and lamellas are responsible for removing excess water and snow from the tread contact area. It is important to note that all tread structures were developed using computer modeling. This made it possible to arrange them in such a way as to achieve the maximum effect.

Despite the fact that the tire is designed for installation on passenger vehicles, it has a profile very similar to that of a truck tire. This has made it possible to achieve increased strength and resistance to deformation.

The model uses the High Density Rubber Reinforced Strength II technology, which ensures the preservation of the elasticity of the rubber mixture, regardless of the ambient temperature. This has a positive effect on the traction and coupling characteristics, keeping them at a high level.
