Initially, the all-season tire Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 was developed for the North American market, but a little later, the Japanese manufacturer began to offer it in Europe, including in our country. This is due to its technical characteristics, which have proven to be relevant in a wide range of climatic conditions. This is the result of the application in the tire design of a number of technological innovations.
3D-lamellas
The entire tire is literally covered with miniature lamellas. It was possible to increase their number without reducing the stiffness of the tread, thanks to the fact that the walls contain many differently directed edges. When the lamellas come into contact with the road surface, they close very tightly, increasing the stability of the blocks to deformation. At the same time, the edges formed by them improve traction on slippery roads. Due to the fact that the lamellas are cut through the entire depth of the tread, the traction practically does not change throughout the life of the tire.
Three-layer breaker construction
One of the key innovations in the design of the Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 tire was the three-layer breaker. The strengthening of this element, located directly under the tread, made it possible to improve several important operational properties. First of all, this is the resistance to impact, which significantly increases the durability of the tire on bad roads.
Continuous ribs in the shoulder areas
The design of the shoulder areas of the tread contains additional longitudinal ribs. They perform several functions at once. These include providing increased directional stability during maneuvering, as well as reducing the noise level. In the process of movement, additional longitudinal ribs in the shoulder areas prevent the spread of extraneous sounds generated by the blocks in the central part.
Main features of the Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 tire
- good traction throughout the year;
- an enhanced construction of the breaker with two additional layers increases the tire's resistance to impact;
- three-dimensional lamellas improve traction on slippery roads, provide precise handling on them;
- additional longitudinal ribs in the shoulder areas reduce the noise level, improve stability in turns and during maneuvering;
- drainage grooves of various shapes and sizes prevent the occurrence of aquaplaning.
