Yokohama continues to participate in the Nitrocross series

In the 2024/2025 season, Yokohama will once again be the official partner of the American Nitrocross rallycross championship and the exclusive supplier for all classes, including the new Group E, where the new ADVAN A064 tires will make their debut, which will be installed on the FC1-X, one of the fastest electric racing cars in the world.

In Nitrocross, participants perform jumps, pass inclined turns and sections with different types of coverage, all in one lap, and the list of pilots includes such Yokohama partners as Travis Pastrana, Tanner Faust and the Eisenhauer brothers, who will participate in 10 stages in five cities in the new season.

Tanner Faust will be behind the wheel of the FC1-X, the first American to win a stage of the European Rallycross Championship, while Pastrana will compete in the Can-Am Maverick R buggy, equipped with Geolandar H/T G056 tires, and Nick and Chris Eisenhauer - on a modified VW Beetle, equipped with the recently introduced Geolandar A/T4 tires.

"We are excited to return to Nitrocross as an official partner," said Patricia Wall, Senior Motorsports Manager at Yokohama's US office. "We love to see our tires work on a variety of vehicles, especially in such harsh conditions as rallycross. This helps us develop new tires for both everyday drivers and motorsports."

According to her, the new ADVAN A054 tires were created with the FC1-X's enormous torque in mind. "When the FC1-X was first introduced, its dynamic properties were very impressive, to say the least," Wall said. "At the same time, like regular electric vehicles, it is heavier and puts more strain on the tires compared to lighter racing cars with internal combustion engines."

For the FC1-X, bedslock discs were also created, and Wall says that the ADVAN A054 pattern increases grip on both asphalt and dirt, and the design has been modified so that the tires will perform well at the end of the race, and the bedslock discs will allow pilots to feel more confident, which will improve the spectacle of the competition.
