Yokohama introduced a new highway tire

The Tokyo Auto Salon saw the premiere of the new Yokohama Geolandar H/T4 tire (model index - G062), designed for SUVs and pickups and developed primarily for use on asphalt, but also capable of handling light off-road conditions. The novelty represents the fourth generation of the Geolandar H/T model, released in 1997, and its immediate predecessor is the Geolandar H/T G056 tire, presented in 2014.

The Geolandar H/T4 tread pattern features large central blocks that improve handling on dry and wet roads, while the stiffness of the shoulder sections has been increased to optimize stability and even wear. In addition, the blocks have diagonal grooves of two types, which, in combination with four main drainage channels, increase safety on wet surfaces, while 3D lamellae enhance traction in difficult conditions, and the 5-step tread pattern reduces noise.

The tires also have a differing design of the sidewalls, and you can choose which one - aggressive or more moderate - will be visible when installed on a car.

The sidewalls have the M+S marking, but there is no 3PMSF symbol, which means that the tire has not passed certification tests on snow. In addition, there is the E+ marking, which indicates that the tires have been adapted for use on electric vehicles.

In the segment of highway tires, Yokohama also offers Geolandar X-CV for sports cars and Geolandar CV G058 of the "grand touring" class, designed to provide a high level of comfort during long trips.

Yokohama Geolandar H/T4 will be produced in 22 sizes, from 215/70 R15 to 285/45 R22.
