Description Yokohama AVS Winter V901
The Yokohama AVS Winter V901 non-studded tire is designed for mid-range passenger cars. One of the distinctive features of this model is the versatility of its characteristics, both on winter and dry clean roads. At the same time, the tire has a speed index V, i.e. it provides a high level of safety when driving up to 240 km/h.
When developing this model, Japanese tire makers set themselves several ambitious tasks — to provide excellent handling, braking on wet roads and winter surfaces, as well as to achieve excellent directional stability at high speeds. In addition, the tire should maintain elasticity at a constant level over a very wide temperature range, including below zero.
This task was solved with the help of a new composition of rubber compound, the composition of which is characterized by a high content of silica. In addition, a special component ZERUMA was added to the rubber mixture, designed for a more even distribution of silica, which made the tread uniform in composition.
Another feature of the Yokohama AVS Winter V901 model is a unique design of an asymmetric tread pattern, the design of which is one of the practical results of the wide application of computer modeling technologies. As a result, the tire demonstrates almost ideal balance of operational characteristics, both on dry and snowy surfaces.
The tire tread consists of two parts — inner and outer. On the inside of the tread, there are many small blocks that form a large number of sharp edges of adhesion, which scatter snow to the sides. This design solution made it possible to reduce the tire's tendency to skid when turning.
The outer part of the tread contains more massive blocks and wide longitudinal grooves, which provide good directional stability and traction on snowy surfaces.
Main features of Yokohama AVS Winter V901
- Excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slushplaning, thanks to a carefully thought-out drainage system;
- A huge number of lamellas provides good traction and high braking efficiency on icy surfaces;
- A unique design of an asymmetric tread pattern allows for safe movement on both dry and snowy roads.
