The Wolftyres brand belongs to the eponymous Estonian company. It was founded in 1991 and was engaged in the sale of automotive tires. Then the business expanded due to new areas of activity - body and locksmith car repairs, a technical inspection point, and a car wash. In the early 2000s, the company began to engage in much more complex activities - the production of restored tires for passenger cars and small-capacity commercial vehicles. The firm has a unique technology for making "raw" rubber, which is successfully used in other industrial sectors.
Tires are manufactured at two own sites with the most modern equipment and an annual production volume of up to 50,000 products. The production process is exceptionally complex, but it allows you to get a restored tire with characteristics identical to new products. At the same time, the technologies used make it possible to use about 70% of the material from worn-out tires, including frames that undergo a thorough inspection and only then get a chance to be reused. Another limitation is the age of the tire, which does not exceed 4 years.
A distinctive feature of the brand's tire range is that it is represented exclusively by winter models. They are divided into two main categories:
- for passenger cars;
- for small-tonnage commercial vehicles.
With rare exceptions, all tires for passenger cars have studded tread. In addition, they use a classic V-shaped design with numerous blocks and densely notched "three-dimensional" lamellas. This is due to the preferences of car owners in the company's key markets. These are, first of all, Scandinavian countries. For this reason, all winter tires of this brand are extremely effective on snowy and icy roads, offering better grip than similar products from many other brands. As for Wolftyres all-season tires, they are an excellent option for use in the summer in the same Scandinavian countries. The "winter" tread pattern and elastic rubber compound in combination with rigid carcasses and sidewalls provide these models with excellent functionality and efficiency, from early spring to late autumn.
All-season and winter tires are also offered for small-tonnage commercial vehicles. In the first case, non-directional tread patterns with a large number of blocks and lamellas are used, but at the same time, the elements are arranged in such a way as to minimize rolling resistance and wear. Winter tires have a tread with a design similar to passenger car tires, differing only in the size of the blocks and ribs. The more massive sizes prevent tread breaks due to strong weight loads, as well as improve traction and handling, reduce wear.
