Toyo Proxes R32 — a classic example of tires created for the mass premium segment, where the primary focus is not on racing extremes, but on a confident, quiet, and predictable character. This summer model was developed specifically for the factory equipment of such cars as Lexus IS and Mazda 3.
"Alloy" of stiffness and functionality
The tread pattern is designed according to an asymmetric scheme and immediately attracts attention with its unusual geometry. The concept of a racing slick is applied here. In the center of the tread, there is a wide double rib. This solution performs two key tasks:
- increases the contact area of the tire with the asphalt, which is critical for precise handling;
- less deformation of the tread blocks — less energy loss due to friction. This directly affects fuel efficiency.
Hydroplaning protection
Despite the "slick" center, the engineers perfectly understood the importance of performance on a wet road. That's why they designed a powerful drainage system on the edges. The system works on the classic principle of "two circuits". The main drainage — 4 deep longitudinal channels run along the entire length of the tire, creating highways for the removal of the main water volume. Numerous transverse grooves in the shoulder areas act as mini-pumps, pushing water out from under the blocks.
Wear resistance formula
For the tire, an elastic compound with increased resistance to wear was developed. Components that increase abrasive resistance were added to the mixture. This provides the tire with a worthy mileage resource.
Key features of Toyo Proxes R32:
- the model is supplied to car manufacturers' production lines for installation on Lexus IS and Mazda 3;
- excellent noise reduction due to the minimization of block structures and their special arrangement;
- the tread provides confident behavior, both on dry and wet surfaces, due to the pronounced rib structure.
