The Sunny SWP11 winter non-studded tire is one of the attempts by Chinese tire manufacturers to compete with their Japanese counterparts, specializing in the production of so-called "sticky" tires. That's why this model is very similar to the products produced by Japanese manufacturers for many decades. Like it, this tire is distinguished by a very high density of traction edges, which, in combination with an elastic rubber compound, provides excellent traction on slippery surfaces, all without studs.
Symmetric non-directional tread pattern
Unlike Japanese "stickies", this model is equipped with a symmetric non-directional tread pattern. It features five fairly massive longitudinal ribs, each with a composite structure. Thanks to this, the specialists of the Chinese company were able to give the tire excellent directional stability, and due to the significant size of the contact patch, excellent traction on dry roads.
High resistance to slash-planning
One of the distinctive features of this model is its reliable and confident behavior even in the most unfavorable road and weather conditions. To a large extent, this feature was ensured by the drainage system. Its main elements are four longitudinal grooves located between the tread ribs. They serve as a kind of accumulators for water and slush, directing their excess from the contact patch to the outside of the tread through numerous transverse drainage channels. At the same time, their significant size in combination with the great depth of the tread allows for very confident movement on any roads without the risk of aquaplaning and slash-planning.
Main features of the Sunny SWP11 tire
- the tire is developed based on the developments of Japanese manufacturers using modern technologies and materials;
- excellent traction on any winter road thanks to numerous traction edges formed by very dense tread lamination;
- excellent traction and adhesion properties on snow are provided by numerous tread blocks;
- good directional stability, reduced rolling resistance, and increased contact patch size are achieved by the massive size of the five longitudinal ribs of the tread;
- excellent stability when cornering, high resistance to uneven wear is ensured by the reinforced design of the shoulder areas;
- short braking distance due to the large number of transverse traction edges of significant length, formed by rectangular blocks and lamellas in the shoulder areas of the tread.
