Description Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5
The winter tire Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 is one of the "locomotives" of sales of the Finnish brand. This model is beneficially distinguished by the reliability of coupling properties on slippery surfaces, ease of handling, acoustic comfort, softness of the ride, fuel efficiency, and a long service life.
Compound with Arctic Grip technology
The tread is made with a rubber compound that uses Arctic Grip technology. The essence of the solution lies in the use of small hard particles evenly distributed throughout the compound. As the tread wears out, they come into contact with the road surface, becoming a kind of stud and providing additional traction with it.
Tread pattern with Double Block technology
A feature of the tread pattern is the distribution of blocks into groups, each starting in the central part and ending at the edge of the tread. This allowed increasing the contact patch, saturating it with long, almost continuous transverse edges. As a result, traction improves both on dry, clean pavement and on snow and ice.
Green Trace rubber compound
In addition to the hard Arctic Grip particles, it contains a number of other components. About a third of the composition consists of pine resin, natural rubber, and rapeseed oil. In addition to the possibility of recycling and reuse, these components significantly improve resistance to abrasive wear and cracks, reduce rolling resistance, which significantly improves fuel efficiency and increases the mileage of the tire, especially in adverse operating conditions.
Main features of Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5
- Arctic Grip particles in the compound structure enhance coupling properties on wet pavement, rolled snow, and ice;
- the tread pattern with Double Block technology improves handling, increases traction and braking force on snow and ice;
- the Green Trace rubber compound reduces rolling resistance, increases resistance to abrasive wear and cracks;
- a special indicator reflecting the remaining tread depth allows you to accurately determine the need to replace the tire.
