Tires Michelin X-Ice 2 appeared on the tire market in 2008. Initially, these tires were recommended for use in countries with abundant snowfall: Japan, Scandinavia, Canada, and Russia. In these countries, the climate is quite harsh. The grip with the snowy road should be maximum, and the handling of the car should be no worse than in the summer.
Michelin X-Ice 2 — non-studded tires from the French company Michelin — a leader in the automotive tire market. The tires replaced their predecessor Michelin X-Ice.
Michelin X-Ice 2 Rubber Compound
The composition of the rubber compound in X-Ice 2 tires has been significantly improved. It is the rubber compound used in tire production that determines the level of grip with the road. Tires in the winter season become rigid with a decrease in temperature, very strongly affecting grip. The Michelin X-Ice 2 tire is non-studded, but the new technology of French engineers Flex-Ice allows for effective gripping of the surface.
Noise Level in Michelin X-Ice 2
Michelin X-ice 2 tires use lugs instead of studs. Due to this, the acoustic comfort while driving on Michelin X-Ice 2 tires is at a high level. The structure of the blocks in the Michelin tire has been revised and improved.
Latest Technologies in the Development of X-Ice 2 Tires
The features of the new French tire include micro-pumps, Z-shaped lamellae, and Flex-Ice technology. Z-lamellae replaced studs. They are located in the center of the tread, creating a large number of edges that grip the road surface. Micro-pumps contribute to water absorption when driving on Michelin X-Ice 2 tires. The effective technology allows minimizing the risk of aquaplaning to a minimum.
X-Ice 2 in Russia
Michelin X-Ice 2 tires are produced in Russia and are available in 36 sizes from 13 to 18 inches with a speed index of T. The main competitor to Michelin X-Ice 2 is Japanese tires Bridgestone Blizzak WS60.
