The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire, manufactured by the French company Michelin, is installed on the most powerful sports cars in the world, including the exclusive limited edition Ferrari 599 GTO (the most powerful car from Ferrari). The new French product was developed for car owners who care about how new technologies and innovations in tires increase the potential and safety of the vehicle.
At the beginning of the summer season 2011, it is one of the best sports tires on the domestic market. The history of the development of Michelin Pilot Super Sport dates back to the 24-hour Le Mans and 12-hour Sebring races. This tire uses the technologies of the winners of these races. Pilot Super Sport has stunning characteristics with extended wear resistance. During the 24-hour race on Michelin tires, 46 laps were completed at a speed of around 210 km/h. This is about 630 km on one set of Michelin Pilot Sport tires. During the entire race, 11 sets were used with an absolute record duration of 5850 km. The previous record holder required a minimum of 14 sets of tires. Thus, the wear resistance of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire was increased by 25% without sacrificing other characteristics.
Michelin Pilot Super Sport is an absolutely summer tire that is not recommended to be used at temperatures below 5 degrees above zero.
Internal composition of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire
The composition of the tire's rubber mixture includes several components formed one after another into a single asymmetric tread design. The outer sidewall of the tire includes tread components to counteract high stresses in turns. The toothed central blocks of the tread provide impressive characteristics at very high speeds and in wet road conditions.
The internal construction of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire includes a double steel cord, which provides a light weight of the tire, the quality of its grip, wear resistance, and durability. The polyester carcass allowed for comfortable movement on the Michelin tire. The weight of the novelty from the French has been reduced by 10% compared to the closest competitors.
The development of the latest Pilot Sport model involved such legendary automakers as Porsche and BMW M.

Up until the last minute, I was determined to put DUNLOP SP Sport Maxx RT on, but since DUNLOP was already used, I decided to go with Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Everyone praises it and it's well-deserved. The grip with the road is definitely better than the previous DUNLOP SP Sport Maxx GT. Here are my findings in order of importance to me:
– Cornering grip – better.
– Noise level – subjectively a bit

Good tyre holds well both on dry and wet road but there is a significant problem: very weak sidewall!!! After 1000 km I discovered a bulge on the rear wheel, although I didn't hit any potholes or hard bumps!!!

The best summer tire in my opinion, especially in the city. The car handles great, aggressive turns and good grip are assured. The tire is quiet but a bit rough on potholes.

- A great option for those who want to get pleasure from fast driving - but only on dry asphalt
Tires are created using technologies tested in the 24-hour Le Mans race. And this is felt on the track "dry" handling. The car stands great on a high-speed arc, softly starts to slide in sharp turns. The lap time is one of the best! And, importantly, after driving on the track, after drifting, the tread does not look worn out, an indirect sign of the durability of Michelin tires.
On wet asphalt, the tires performed slightly worse. Resistance to aquaplaning did not cause any complaints, but on the handling track, the driver is forced to work on the edge of their capabilities: the car sharply and unpredictably skids, making it difficult to move along the optimal trajectory. As a result, the largest spread of results from lap to lap.
However, these are the quietest and "softest" tires among their peers.
