Description Mentor M350A
The summer passenger tire Mentor M350A is designed for compact passenger cars with a wheel mounting diameter of 14, 15, and 16 inches. The key feature of this model is the asymmetric directional tread pattern, which provides excellent traction in any road conditions.
Asymmetric arrangement of tread elements
This model is equipped with an original tread pattern with an asymmetric arrangement of elements. It consists of an inner and outer zone, each of which performs strictly defined functions.
The outer part of the tread pattern consists of one longitudinal rib and a shoulder area. These functional elements provide the Mentor M350A tire with excellent directional stability and low rolling resistance. This was largely achieved due to the dual construction of the longitudinal rib. One part of it is a series of separate blocks, and the other is a solid, uninterrupted element. The rectangular shape of the blocks allowed for the contact patch to be provided with additional traction edges without compromising directional stability. And the second part of the rib, due to its high structural rigidity, allowed for a reduction in the tire's response time to steering wheel turns.
The inner part of the tread is distinguished by more massive dimensions. At the same time, it consists of many separate elements grouped into three longitudinal ribs. Such an open design, combined with the massive size of the blocks, gave the tire a whole range of advantages. First of all, it increased stability when cornering, as well as when making sharp maneuvers.
Additionally, the block structure of the inner side of the tread pattern allowed for the tire to be equipped with a very developed system of drainage channels. Their large size allows them to accommodate a very large amount of water. At the same time, the speed of its removal was further increased due to the direction of the drainage channels - against the direction of movement.
Main features of the Mentor M350A tire
- excellent directional stability at high speed and sharpened reactions, thanks to the rigid longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread;
- the different design of the shoulder areas of the tread allowed for a significant improvement in handling without harming other operational qualities of the tire;
- the block structure of the inner side of the tread provided the tire's drainage system with excellent performance;
- the asymmetric design of the directional tread pattern, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent traction and handling in any road conditions.
