Maxxis Premitra Ice 5 SP5
Tire specifications
DescriptionDescription Maxxis Premitra Ice 5 SP5
The Maxxis Premitra Ice 5 SP5 winter tire is designed for a wide range of passenger cars operating in harsh conditions. The model is equipped with a Scandinavian-type tread, which has long proven itself as the most reliable on icy and snowy roads. In addition, the tire stands out for its acoustic comfort and the efficiency of the drainage system.
Many characteristics were achieved by the manufacturer due to the use of an innovative SiRu rubber mixture. It is distinguished by its softness and wear resistance. Therefore, when moving on an icy surface, a denser contact is achieved, which increases the stability and maneuverability of the vehicle.
The directional V-shaped tread pattern is represented by a developed block structure. Each block has sharp edges that act as hooks on loose snow. To this, it is worth adding the presence of diagonally directed channels that contribute to the rapid cleaning of the contact area from slush and water. Their depth provides drainage of any volume, which positively affects the retention of control on a snowy road.
Key Features of Maxxis Premitra Ice 5 SP5
- V-shaped tread pattern with a large lamellar network guarantees stable vehicle behavior on winter roads;
- silicon-containing innovative SiRu mixture provides maximum contact with all road surface irregularities;
- a wide contact patch helps maintain vehicle stability during maneuvering.

On front-wheel drive, they performed great! In the city (St. Petersburg) they are an ideal option, and on the highway I didn't notice any problems, even when I tried to create some for myself (I was driving in heavy snow on packed snow) - they handle confidently. Up a icy hill, in a smooth motion, I was able to drive up to the top alongside studded tires (some of which couldn't make it even with studs).

Maxxis Premitra Ice 5 SP5 SUV 265/65 R17 112T Not expensive. In the city, it works well on snow. Doesn't like ice and snow drift. Been in use for 4 years, mileage over 40,000 km, winter and summer, tread wear is not significant, if not extreme, it's worth its money. Used in Arkhangelsk region.
