Description Maxxis MA-PS Presa Sport
The Maxxis MA-PS Presa Sport motorcycle tire is offered by the Asian manufacturer worldwide, including Europe and the USA. And everywhere it enjoys a fairly high popularity, which is explained, first of all, by its excellent operational properties, and not only by an attractive price. Among the numerous advantages of this model, particular attention should be paid to stability and reliable handling at high speeds, as well as increased wear resistance. This makes it, perhaps, the ideal choice for use both in everyday operation and for conducting track-days on a racing track. The versatility of the application is ensured by the use of advanced technologies, most of which are applied mainly in motorsport.
Innovative carcass design
One of such solutions, "borrowed" from racing motorcycle tires, was a multilayer carcass structure. One of its key components is a breaker made of Kevlar cord. It is wound using a so-called "seamless" technology. In this case, the Kevlar fibers are arranged almost parallel to the direction of movement, and due to the absence of any seams and joints, they are very dense. As a result, the specialists of the Asian company managed to create a very strong and rigid base directly under the tread, which retains its original shape even at the highest speed, both when driving in a straight line and when turning. The practical result of using a Kevlar breaker was exceptional stability and stability in any conditions, even at significant motorcycle tilt angles. At the same time, the tire demonstrates very smooth and confident behavior when entering and exiting turns, which greatly simplifies the process of controlling the motorcycle.
Highly efficient Maxxis MA-PS Presa Sport rubber compound
A significant part of the numerous advantages of this model is ensured by the tread rubber compound, which has a number of unique properties. This was achieved through the use of the most modern components in its composition. In particular, thanks to the use of silica, the tread was given elasticity even at low temperatures. In addition, the compound contains several functional polymers. These complex chemical compounds strengthen the molecular bonds between all the components of the rubber compound, which, on the one hand, improves its uniformity, and on the other hand, ensures the integrity of the tread due to increased mechanical strength, including tear resistance. In other words, the rubber compound stretches well and does not break even with very strong stretching. In conditions of real operation, all these unique properties of the compound provide the tire with a number of important operational properties - excellent grip on a wet road, increased wear resistance.
Sporty tread pattern
Another solution for the Maxxis MA-PS Presa Sport, borrowed from sports racing tires, is the tread pattern of this model. It contains a large number of massive blocks separated by multidirectional drainage grooves. This technical feature, on the one hand, increases the size of the contact patch, and together with this, improves traction on dry roads, and on the other hand, increases resistance to aquaplaning, and together with this, traction properties in rainy conditions.
In addition, it is impossible not to notice another advantage provided by such a design of the tread pattern. This is high efficiency during braking. The massive size of the tread blocks provides stability and predictability to this process, and the numerous and mostly very long edges formed by them significantly reduce the braking distance, especially on a wet road.
Main features:
- a "dual-purpose" tire - perfectly suitable for both everyday use and for use on racing tracks during so-called track-days;
- a highly efficient rubber compound with versatile unique properties, ensured by the use of silica and special functional polymeric compounds in its composition;
- a multilayer carcass with a Kevlar cord breaker with longitudinally arranged fibers provides the tire with exceptional stability and stability at high speeds;
- an aggressive tread pattern with a multitude of massive blocks and wide drainage grooves between them gives the tire very high performance, both on dry roads and in heavy rain conditions.
