VOC FREE

This model was one of the first to feature a rubber compound created using VOC FREE technology. One of its main features is a high level of environmental safety, achieved by reducing the emission of volatile organic compounds during production and using the RAE plasticizer. In addition to this, the rubber compound includes silicon-containing components, which has had a positive impact on traction characteristics, wear resistance, and rolling resistance.

Asymmetric arrangement of tread elements

The asymmetric tread pattern of the Matador MP-16 Stella 2 tire is divided into two functional zones. The outer side of the tread has more massive blocks, separated by narrow drainage channels. This more closed design improves stability when cornering. Additionally, the high rigidity of this part of the tread has had a positive effect on braking properties.

The inner part of the tread pattern is equipped with an increased number of blocks with longer edges. In combination with their transverse arrangement and wide drainage grooves, this has made it possible to significantly improve traction properties on wet surfaces.

Multifunctional drainage system

In addition to quickly removing water from the contact patch, the three longitudinal drainage grooves contribute to higher stability when driving at high speeds. Furthermore, the varying angle of their walls ensures a more even distribution of external pressure across the contact patch.
