The Laufenn i-Fit LW31 winter tire is designed for snowy and wet road conditions, taking into account the road conditions in Central and Western Europe. Other notable advantages of this tire include its low cost and long service life.
A significant portion of the tread area is occupied by drainage grooves, all of which are arranged at a large angle and against the direction of rotation. This design provides for very intense water removal from the contact patch, and the large size of the drainage grooves allows them to cope well with snow masses, thereby increasing resistance to slushplaning.
Another characteristic feature of the tread of this tire is the increased length of the traction edges, as well as their large number. Thanks to this solution, this model demonstrates high efficiency during longitudinal accelerations, primarily on snowy roads.
The compound composition was selected taking into account the specifics of operation at low temperatures. It is for this reason that it contains an increased amount of silicon dioxide, which allows the tire to remain elastic on snow and ice.
