The winter tire Hankook W429A i Pike X is designed for use in regions with a very cold climate. It is distinguished by improved traction properties on snow and ice, comfort handling, low noise level, soft ride, good fuel economy for its class, and durability.
The directional tread pattern features a zigzag shape of the grooves in the central part. They increase traction properties in deep snow. Here, it is also worth noting the saw-toothed protrusions on the bottom of the grooves, which additionally increase the passability on snowy sections. The wide blocks located there reduce rolling resistance, increasing directional stability and handling at high speeds. The shoulder blocks are made according to the "two-in-one" scheme, which ensures high traction force and braking intensity on snow, as well as increased stability and precision of handling during maneuvering, and reduced uneven wear of the tread.
The tread is covered with numerous lamellas. The "three-dimensional" cuts, when in contact with the road surface, form thousands of sharpened edges, which maintains the reliability of controlling the vehicle on icy surfaces. This property is significantly enhanced by the characteristics of the rubber compound. The compound with increased technical carbon content and "silica" remains elastic at extremely low temperatures, demonstrating excellent resistance to abrasive wear at the same time.
