Hankook K125 Ventus Prime 3 – a summer tire that has a wide range of applications: mid-class cars, luxury, and family cars. The model is distinguished by its coupling properties, which equally well demonstrate themselves on both dry and wet road surfaces. To this should be added excellent handling and comfort, which were achieved by the manufacturer thanks to the application of new technological solutions.
"Dry" coupling
Released in 2016, this model is distinguished by improved coupling on dry roads. This was achieved through the development of a new tread design and the provision of greater stiffness to its blocks. These innovations have led to an increase in the contact area, which has been reflected in the coupling characteristics.
"Wet" coupling
To create optimal conditions on wet pavement, the manufacturer provided 4 deep channels. It is they who play the role of the main water drain, which they perform perfectly. It should be noted that the depth of the channels is not the same. This is due to the desire of the developers to preserve the coupling qualities in various weather conditions. To this should be added the system of lamellas, which complement the drainage channels, creating together an effective system that protects the vehicle from aquaplaning.
Tread features
In addition to the above-mentioned tread features, it is worth noting the rigid central rib, as well as the shoulder blocks, which are distinguished by their massiveness. This has improved handling and stability at high speed.
The presence of several ribs has led to a reduction in rolling resistance. And this has had a positive effect on fuel efficiency.
Design specifications
The basis of the tire is a metal breaker, which, together with the enlarged shoulder block zone, has a positive effect on handling. In particular, this is manifested in more accurate reactions that respond to steering wheel turns.
