Like its predecessor, the Goodyear Eagle Sport 2 summer tire is focused on the segment of passenger cars of the middle and upper classes. A number of changes in design and materials made it possible to improve handling and traction on dry and wet surfaces, as well as increase fuel efficiency indicators.
A significant part of the changes affected the design of the carcass and the shape of the tread profile. This made it possible to significantly increase the contact patch and reduce its deformation under the influence of multidirectional acceleration forces. As a result, traction and handling were improved, and wear was reduced. The tread pattern is distinguished by the presence of even wider drainage grooves, which makes the likelihood of aquaplaning lower. In turn, the numerous edges of blocks and lamellas allow for intense acceleration and braking on wet surfaces.
