This allows the car to very smoothly transition to the active phase of cornering, while maintaining excellent directional stability. One of the key features of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tire is the asymmetric tread pattern, the design of which can be called unique in many aspects. First of all, it is six longitudinal ribs, five of which have a block structure, i.e., consist of many individual elements. During driving, they create a large number of traction edges, thereby ensuring maximum efficiency, both when accelerating and braking.
The only solid element is one longitudinal rib located on the inside of the tread pattern. It is this part of the tread that experiences maximum pressure during straight-line driving. Due to its high resistance to dynamic deformation and massive size, this tread element allows the tire to maximize its directional stability at high speeds and significantly reduce the reaction time to steering. As a result, the tire's handling has become refined, and driving a car has become easier and more enjoyable.
Among other strong points of this model, one cannot help but note its high stability even at high lateral accelerations. This is due not only to the rigid sidewalls but also to the design of the shoulder areas of the tread pattern. They contain many massive blocks of rectangular shape, the long sides of which are located at a right angle to the direction of movement. In particular, it contains a number of polymeric compounds and silica, thanks to which reliable and stable traction with a wet surface is ensured.
Speaking of the rubber compound, one cannot help but mention another feature of its composition. It contains carbon black filler, which is present in the same amount as in tires used in auto racing. This significantly increases the tread's resistance to abrasive wear, which significantly extends its service life.
