Description General Tire Grabber HTS60
The North American brand positions the off-road tire General Tire Grabber HTS60 as a "synergy of comfort, durability, and performance". But all this is only true when used on paved roads. This model belongs to the High Terrain category, which implies a ratio of highway and off-road use of 80/20.
Ideal traction in rainy conditions
One of the main advantages of this tire is its characteristics on wet roads. Their high level is largely due to the design of the tread pattern. It contains four longitudinal ribs, two of which run exactly in the center. Their rigid, uninterrupted structure improves handling and directional stability, and the numerous slats cut into them drain the contact patch. The wavy slats in the shoulder zone blocks have similar functionality. But at the same time, due to their transverse direction and significant length, these tread elements reduce the braking distance and also allow for more effective realization of torque when starting to move on a wet road.
Increased efficiency off paved roads
The "20 percent off-road" specified in the tire's characteristics is provided thanks to some features of the tread design. The blocks located in its shoulder zones are spaced far enough apart to give the tire increased performance on unpaved surfaces. In this regard, it is also worth noting the characteristics of the rubber compound. In particular, it is highly resistant to aggressive mechanical stress, which guarantees the absence of punctures and cuts over tens of thousands of kilometers of mileage.
High level of acoustic comfort
This model is favorably distinguished by a low level of noise and vibration. Acoustic comfort is provided, in particular, by the multi-step arrangement of the tread blocks. Additionally, longitudinal ribs are located in its shoulder zones. Thanks to their uninterrupted structure, these tread elements prevent the spread of noise generated by the blocks in the center of the tread.
Long mileage before replacement
When developing this tire, great attention was paid to ensuring a long service life. It is provided by several solutions at once. One of them is the arrangement and design of a number of tread elements, in particular, longitudinal ribs. They significantly reduce wear, more evenly distributing the external load over the contact patch. Additionally, the tread rubber compound contains components that prevent the occurrence and development of any type of wear, as well as protect against mechanical damage.
Main features of the Grabber HTS60 model
- good efficiency on wet roads due to the use of several types of slats - in longitudinal ribs and shoulder blocks;
- increased off-road performance is achieved by the presence of numerous and large-sized blocks and a specially selected rubber compound resistant to aggressive mechanical stress;
- a low level of noise and vibration is ensured by an optimized block arrangement scheme, their specially selected shapes and sizes, as well as the uninterrupted structure of the tread ribs near the shoulder zones;
- a long service life is due to the even distribution of the external load over the contact patch and the physical properties of the rubber compound, which is resistant to wear, punctures, and cuts.
