General Tire introduces new highway tires

General Tire (part of Continental) has introduced in North America new all-season touring tires General Grabber H/T, designed for owners of crossovers, SUVs, and pickups, and replacing the Grabber HTS60 model, which was quite successful in the local market.

Compared to its predecessor, parameters such as service life, wet braking, and fuel efficiency have been improved. GT also conducted internal tests, comparing Grabber H/T with direct competitors: Cooper Endeavor Plus, Firestone Destination LE3, and Toyo Open Country H/T II (in size 265/60 R18), and the tests showed that the new tires have "best-in-class" braking properties on wet surfaces, traction on snow, as well as wear resistance. In addition, the strength and durability of the tires have been increased, and the noise level has been reduced.

"We are pleased to continue the success of the well-proven Grabber HTS60 and launch the new innovative Grabber H/T model," said Bill Caldwell, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Continental Tire. "The new product has excellent characteristics and is available in a wider size range, so we are confident that it will exceed consumer expectations."

The tires are available with white and black sidewall lettering and are equipped with wear indicators (RTM, Replacement Tire Monitor) and correct tread wear indicators (VAI, Visual Alignment Indicators).

The new General tires officially went on sale on September 1 in 62 sizes for wheels from 15 to 22 inches, and in six size options, the tires have a speed index of H (up to 210 km/h). The warranty mileage is up to 113,000 km.
