The commercial tire Fulda Conveo Trans was developed with consideration for the winter climatic conditions in Central European countries, which is reflected in a number of its design features. This model is characterized by increased traction on snow and asphalt. In addition, it has a number of traditional operational characteristics for commercial tires, ranging from excellent ride comfort to good fuel efficiency.
Long service life
In the development of this tire, special attention was paid to ensuring maximum mileage. The solutions used to achieve this goal mainly affected the design of the carcass, as well as the composition of the tread rubber compound.
One of the key innovations in the carcass design was the appearance of a multi-layer breaker made entirely of steel cord. In addition, there is an additional layer of nylon directly under the tread. This design is characterized by increased stiffness and load-carrying capacity, as well as excellent resistance to punctures and cuts. This, on the one hand, increased the carrying capacity and reliability, and on the other hand, significantly optimized the load distribution across the contact patch, which, in turn, had a positive effect on mileage.
As for the rubber compound, it is characterized by excellent wear resistance. This was achieved by including a number of components in its composition that improved the stability of the compound to any mechanical impact.
Semi-open tread design
The main feature of the tread of this tire is the varying degree of openness of its design. In the central part, the polygonal blocks are located at a minimum distance from each other. This significantly increases the size of the contact patch, which has a positive effect on traction on dry roads, and also distributes the load more evenly across it.
In the shoulder areas of the tread, the blocks are located at a much greater distance from each other. This allows the tire to demonstrate confident behavior on loose snow and dirt roads, on which these tread elements work similarly to off-road tires' treads.
