Firestone Passenger Tires

The Firestone tire manufacturing company was founded in 1900 by Harvey Firestone. In 1931, the company merged with the large manufacturing company Bridgestone Tire Company Ltd. The sale of Firestone brand car tires is carried out all over the world thanks to the setup of a distributor network. Today, the company is engaged in the production of a huge range of car tires for various types of vehicles.

The company's main activity is the production of summer and winter tires that can be used every day in the city and on the highway. They have repeatedly shown their excellent working characteristics. At the same time, the tires are distinguished by their affordable cost.

Firestone car tires have earned a reputation for being safe, reliable, meeting high requirements for comfort, stability, reliability, and durability. It is thanks to this that Firestone car tires are widely used by car manufacturers all over the world.

Initially, the company was engaged in importing tires from Europe to America. But already by 1903, the company had released its own line of products. At first, the company had only 12 employees. Soon, Firestone tires were mechanically reinforced. They were equipped with flat edges to ensure stability on the road. In 1906, the company began to closely cooperate with the Ford company. Then the range of customers expanded significantly. And by the 1920s, the company was known throughout the United States and Europe. At that time, the company's production facilities produced 37 million tires. Innovative solutions began to appear, such as tread patterns, additional grooves, and cameras.

In 1935, the company began producing tires for heavy machinery used in the construction and mining industries. Despite the death of the company's founder, it continued to develop actively. During World War II, the company was engaged in the production of rubber accessories for military equipment. By the mid-20th century, Firestone had released the world's first tubeless tire. Ten years later, the company began producing radial tires.

In Europe, the company developed just as actively as in America. They actively supplied racing cars with their tires. It is said that the company's founder came up with the slogan: "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday!"

Due to active technical progress, the company had to reduce its production capacity. The production of radial tires led to a decrease in the demand for tires. New technologies allowed car owners to drive longer on one set of tires. By 1984, the company had only 5 plants left in Europe. And in 1988, the company was completely absorbed by Bridgestone.
