The Durun A-One summer tire belongs to the UHP category, i.e. Ultra High Performance. This model was specifically designed for powerful passenger cars with a high maximum speed threshold. Its size range consists of 20 types for wheels with a landing diameter from 15 to 18 inches. At the same time, the speed index for this tire, depending on the type, can be V or W, which is a eloquent proof of its excellent operational characteristics.
5-rib design of the tread pattern
The Durun A-One model is distinguished by the presence of an atypical UHP tire symmetrical non-directional tread pattern. However, this does not prevent the tire from demonstrating excellent directional stability and clear and transparent reactions when moving at any speed. Much of this is due to the original 5-rib tread pattern. It is characterized by a very stiff central part, formed by 3 longitudinal ribs without any breaks throughout its length. This has led to a significant increase in resistance to dynamic deformations that occur during movement.
The other two ribs are the shoulder zones of the tread. Each of them is a row of separate rectangular blocks. Thanks to their location at a right angle to the direction of movement, the tire demonstrates a short braking distance, especially on wet roads.
Excellent resistance to aquaplaning
Thanks to the 5-rib structure of the tread pattern, it was possible to equip the tire with a high-performance drainage system. It consists of four longitudinal grooves that serve as accumulators, and numerous transverse channels through which water, leaving the contact patch, is discharged outward.
Low noise level
Despite belonging to the UHP category, the tire demonstrates a fairly low noise and vibration level. This was achieved due to the multi-stage arrangement of all tread elements relative to each other.
Main features of the Durun A-One tire
- the original 5-rib design of the symmetrical non-directional tread pattern provides unparalleled grip in any road conditions;
- excellent directional stability with accurate and fast reactions, thanks to the presence of three stiff longitudinal ribs in the central part of the tread;
- superior stability in turns is provided by wide shoulder zones;
- short braking distance on wet roads, due to the massive rectangular blocks of the shoulder zones.
