The Cooper Sportmaster GLT summer tire is designed for compact passenger cars. It has high efficiency on wet surfaces, demonstrating stable traction and deceleration intensity.
The tread pattern has a sufficiently open design with a large number of widened water-draining grooves. They are located both longitudinally and transversely, which allows the tire to effectively combat aquaplaning at high speeds. Each block has lamellas. Narrow slits additionally form transverse edges, which allow for intense acceleration and braking on wet surfaces. Small blocks in the central part are arranged in a "chess" order and at an angle. This solution reduces rolling resistance and wear. The elements in the shoulder zones are enlarged and turned across. This increases directional stability and steering accuracy during maneuvering.
Key features:
- multi-step arrangement of tread elements reduces noise and wear;
- a large number and multidirectionality of water-draining grooves prevent aquaplaning;
- extended lamellas and transverse block edges improve traction properties on wet surfaces.
