The winter non-studded tire Cooper Discoverer M+S Sport, produced by one of the largest North American manufacturers, is designed for powerful passenger cars.
The design of the asymmetric tread pattern of the tire has an original appearance. The asymmetric tread pattern consists of two central ribs and two shoulder zones, the wider of which is located on the outer side of the tread. As is known, when turning, due to the shift of the center of gravity, the outer side of the car relative to the axis of rotation is more loaded, so the shoulder zone of the tread located on the outer side has a greater width compared to the shoulder zone located on the opposite side. This solution allowed to significantly improve the grip on the road when turning. Another distinctive feature of the Cooper Discoverer M+S Sport tire is the presence of many transverse wavy lamellas that literally cover the entire tread, thanks to which the tire demonstrates excellent grip on snowy roads.
For more effective removal of snow and water from the contact patch, the tread pattern is equipped with three longitudinal water-repellent grooves, which gave the tire greater stability, stability and safety when driving on wet and snowy roads.
The rubber compound composition was developed taking into account the winter operation of the tire. Due to the high content of silica in the rubber compound, the tire demonstrates excellent grip and braking performance, both on wet roads and when driving on snow. In addition, the addition of silica to the composition of the rubber compound further improved the elasticity of the tire at negative temperatures, as well as made it more resistant to wear.
