The all-season tire Continental AllSeasonContact is designed for compact and mid-size passenger cars. The model is offered in several dozen sizes for wheels with a rim diameter from 14 to 18 inches. It was developed taking into account the climatic conditions of Western and Central Europe. It is characterized by excellent traction properties on slippery roads from snow and rain, high braking efficiency, and reduced rolling resistance.
Adaptive Compound
This model was one of the first to use the Traction Silica compound in the manufacture of the tread. It is distinguished by an extremely high silica content and the presence of special polymers that provide optimal elasticity when the ambient temperature changes. This largely determines the stability and reliability of the traction properties under various road conditions.
Braking Efficiency
The shoulder areas of the tread have a significant width and contain numerous transverse blocks with narrow slots in the middle. During movement, they form a large number of very long edges. It is these edges that the tire grips even the smallest irregularities when accelerating and braking. The efficiency of the tread when driving in these modes is preserved even on wet pavement.
Reduced Rolling Resistance
This tire is characterized by one of the best fuel efficiency indicators in its category. This is largely due to the reduced rolling resistance, which was achieved through several solutions. One of them is the optimized shape of the sidewalls, which is provided by the stiffness characteristics of the breaker and a special filler in the tire bead. Another factor that determines the reduced rolling resistance is the tread depth. It was selected without compromising other operational properties using computer modeling.
Key Features:
- designed for compact and mid-size passenger cars;
- adaptive compound provides optimal elasticity of the tread in a wide temperature range;
- braking efficiency is provided by long edges formed by blocks and lamellae in the shoulder areas;
- reduced rolling resistance due to the optimized shape of the sidewalls and the depth of the tread pattern.
