The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 winter tire is designed for regions with a moderate climate and so-called "mild" winters. It is characterized by improved handling and traction on wet and snow-covered roads.
High braking efficiency
The entire tread area of the tire is literally filled with narrow slits. Two types of such elements are used here. "Two-dimensional" lamellas in the central part increase the traction force and braking efficiency on rolled snow and ice, improve acoustic comfort and smoothness of the ride. Similar elements with a "three-dimensional" profile of the vertical walls are located in the shoulder zones. When in contact, they not only form additional edges but also rigidly limit the mobility of the blocks. As a result, both traction on slippery surfaces and precision in handling during maneuvers are improved.
Zigzag drainage grooves
Longitudinal drainage grooves between the central part and the shoulder zones, thanks to the zigzag profile of their vertical walls, have expanded functionality. Forming additional sharp edges, they further enhance the traction properties on snow.
Increased efficiency on any slippery surface
The tread area is made of a rubber compound obtained using Nano Pro-Tech technology. The compound is distinguished by an extremely high content of silica dioxide for such products. This component, in combination with special polymers, gives the tire excellent grip at negative temperatures, providing it with optimal elasticity in such conditions. Additionally, this rubber compound, having high tear and tensile strength, effectively resists abrasive wear and mechanical damage.
