Although this tire has an asymmetric tread pattern, its design is largely dictated by the need to provide the tire with durability and reduced fuel consumption. The shapes, sizes, and arrangement of the tread blocks are chosen in such a way as to make the distribution of external load on the contact patch as uniform as possible, and to reduce rolling resistance.
