Description Michelin Power Supersport
The scope of the Michelin Power Supersport tire is sport and hyper bikes equipped with high power density engines. The model is positioned by the French manufacturer as a flagship one and having very high technical characteristics. They are achieved through the use of advanced technologies and modern materials, most of which were borrowed from WEC championship tires.
Rubber compound
The front and rear tires, despite their similar appearance, have a number of design differences. One of them is the composition of the rubber compound, made using two technologies at once - 2CT and 2CT+. The first one is used in the tread of the front tire. Its central part, occupying about 50% of the area, is made of a hard compound, which increases stability at high speeds and wear resistance. In turn, the side zones are more elastic, providing traction when changing direction. The tread of the rear tire is made according to roughly the same scheme, with one exception. It contains 2 layers, the lower of which, like the central part, has increased stiffness. This solution allowed not only to improve the above-mentioned operational properties but also to increase the stability of transmitting traction during acceleration.
Guaranteed traction in any conditions
The tread profile of the tire is selected so that the contact patch is narrow in the longitudinal direction and as wide as possible in the transverse direction. This configuration provides increased resistance to wear and lateral skidding, as well as reduced rolling resistance.
