Solaris KRX debuted in the model range of the Russian brand in 2024. The car is one of the variants of the compact hatchback Kia Rio X of 2020, having the same specific differences from the standard model with the same name.

Distinguishing Features

The original model, presented in 2020, was a modified version of the Rio hatchback, which in 2019 received an additional version. Its appearance was due to the popularity of Renault Sandero Stepway and Lada XRAY, which differed from their "classmates" with increased ground clearance. In technical terms, the key innovation was the use of other springs, shock absorbers, front levers, and steering knuckles, as well as tires with a 60% profile, which collectively gave an increase in clearance to 195 mm. Externally, the "raised" hatchback was distinguished by a plastic body kit that encircled the entire body in its lower part.

In terms of equipment, the car is almost completely identical to the standard Kia Rio X, differing in the excessive austerity of the base version and a rather extensive list of equipment in the expensive versions. In particular, a 4.2-inch display is used in the instrument cluster, and an 8-inch screen is allocated for the multimedia system. Additionally, the "medium" trim level with two-tone upholstery and red inserts on the front console has been preserved.

The engine range still consisted of two engines - 1.4 and 1.6-liter gasoline "fours" developing 100 and 123 hp, respectively. A distinctive feature was the absence of versions with a manual transmission in the lineup. In any version, the power unit works in "pair" with a 6-speed "automatic".
