Tires on Maserati (Масерати)
The Maserati company was founded on December 1, 1914, in the Italian city of Bologna. It specializes in the development and production of luxury passenger cars. Currently, it is a structural unit of the transnational corporation Stellantis.History
The company was created by the Maserati brothers, Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore, and Ernesto in 1914. In the first years of its operation, the firm was engaged in the construction of racing cars for Diatto. In 1926, this company ceased to be involved in automobile sports, which, in fact, led to the establishment of the Maserati brand, which continued to create racing cars. One of the first cars built under its own brand won the Targa Florio in 1926. At the same time, the company launched the production of cars equipped with its own engines with 4, 6, 8, and 16 cylinders. The latter option was a pair of connected row "eights", a non-trivial solution for that time. The company's logo was borrowed from the Neptune fountain on the Maggiore Square in Bologna on the advice of a family friend, Marquis Diego de Sterlich. The Maserati brothers considered it suitable for a company that produced racing cars, since Neptune embodies strength, energy, and the statue of the ancient god is one of the symbols of Bologna. In 1937, the company was sold to the family of Adolfo Orsi. The new owner moved the company's headquarters to Modena, where it is still located today. At the same time, the Maserati brothers remained in the company as engineers, which largely determined the successful performance in racing, despite the competition from the German Auto Union and Mercedes. In addition, Maserati managed to win the Indy-500 in 1939 and 1940, becoming the only Italian manufacturer to do so. During World War II, the company suspended car production, switching entirely to the production of military products, returning to its previous activities immediately after the war.Gran Turismo
After the tragic accident of Alfonso de Portago at the Mille Miglia in 1957, which claimed the lives of the driver, his navigator, and 10 spectators, Maserati decided to close its racing program, focusing on the development and production of civilian sports cars. The result was the appearance in 1957 of the Maserati 3500 GT. The coupe had a 3.5-liter inline 6-cylinder engine, which was a road version of the racing engine from the 350S. In 1959, the Vignale 3500 GT Spyder followed with an open top, short base, and bearing steel body. The 3500 GT line had a decisive influence on Maserati's survival, being produced in a quantity of more than 2200 copies. On its basis, another iconic model for the brand was created - the 5000 GT. The coupe, created at the behest of the Persian Shah, had a racing engine from the Maserati 450S, an inline "eight", which made this car the fastest and most expensive at that time. In 1962, the Sebring appeared, a convertible with an even shorter wheelbase than the previous models. Over the next two years, the line was supplemented with the two-seat Mistral and Spider coupes. Both had 6-cylinder engines. During the same period, the first generation of the Quattroporte sedan appeared, which used a 4.2-liter 8-cylinder engine Tipo 107, which was installed on the company's cars until 1990. The iconic Ghobli coupe was released in 1967 and was distinguished by a very powerful 4.7-liter, and then 4.9-liter "eight" with a dry sump. These same names are used by the brand in the cars it offers today, fully preserving the philosophy of the brand and its characteristic dynamic characteristics. This strongly limits the choice of tires for Maserati cars. Nevertheless, the catalog of the "Mosavtoshina" online store has a sufficient number of tires designed for use under extreme loads.Advantages of selecting tires on our website for Maserati
