Tires on Lincoln LS (Линкольн)
The Lincoln LS was produced from 1999 to 2006 and was an attempt by the North American brand to move away from its traditional image of massive premium sedans, focusing on a more European approach to handling. The car was created as a response to competitors' attempts to occupy the niche of "moderately sporty" business sedans, and Lincoln engineers decided to create a model that would not be perceived as a reduced copy of the Town Car, but would offer a completely different character. As a result, the LS turned out to be a car that combined a conservative design, a strict salon, and surprisingly lively technology, designed for those who wanted a premium, but without excessive softness and floatiness.Key differences
The DEW98 platform, on which the Lincoln LS is built, used a longitudinal engine layout, a fully independent suspension, and a developed geometry of levers. The front features aluminum upper levers and steel lower levers, with precise kinematics to reduce tilting. The rear features a multi-link scheme with a separate subframe and a wide range of adjustments. The car was equipped with the ADVANCETRAC stability system, an electronically controlled throttle, and adaptive traction control.
The powertrain lineup included a 3.0-liter V6 and a 3.9-liter V8 from the Jaguar AJ family, both with distributed fuel injection and an aluminum cylinder block. The engines were combined with a 5-speed automatic transmission 5R55N/S, which used electronic control of pressure in the hydroblock and several switching modes.
The braking system consisted of large-diameter discs and a two-circuit drive with a variable-performance booster, correcting the distribution of braking effort on each wheel depending on the load. The steering is variable, making the car comfortable to use in everyday driving, regardless of the driving mode and style.
Trim levels
The equipment of the LS differed significantly between the base models and the Sport versions. The standard variant offered fabric or leather trim, 2-zone climate control, an electric package, cruise control, and an audio system with a CD changer. Variations with the Sport package added a suspension with "stiffer" settings, an engine control unit program, 17-inch wheels, sports seats with pronounced lateral support, and a more "sharp" steering.
In the "upper" trim levels, a sunroof, satellite navigation, heated and ventilated front seats, parking sensors, mirrors with automatic dimming, front seats and steering column with position memory were installed. Separate versions were equipped with improved Alpine acoustics and a multifunctional display with extended car settings.
The wheel disks for the Lincoln LS vary from 16 to 18 inches and require the selection of tires with reinforced sidewalls to maintain handling of the sufficiently heavy car. For this reason, it is most convenient to choose the correct combination of disks and tires in the online store "Mosavtoshina".
