History

The first public appearance of the Emgrand car brand took place at the Shanghai auto show in 2009, along with two other Geely brands - Englon and Gleagle. The debut model of the brand, the EC7 sedan, was also presented there. The second serial Emgrand car, the EC8, was released in October 2010, representing a larger model that was positioned as a big and spacious sedan for the whole family. It was the EC7 that was launched on the European market in 2011, but it did not achieve any significant sales. In 2014, deliveries were stopped, and the status of the car brand was reduced to the level of a model offered under the Geely brand. Nevertheless, some of these cars are still present on domestic roads.
